Analytics

Yandex Metrika

We use Yandex Metrika to understand how visitors interact with our website. Yandex Metrika collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, session duration, browser type, screen resolution, and approximate geographic region. Yandex Metrika also includes the WebVisor feature, which records anonymized session replays to help us understand how users navigate the interface. Device Orientation Sensor

StarGlobe can use your device's orientation sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer) to align the star map with the real sky. This feature requires your explicit permission — your browser will display a permission prompt before any sensor data is accessed. Sensor data is processed entirely on your device in real time and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can use StarGlobe without granting sensor access; the star map can be navigated manually by touch or mouse.

Geolocation

StarGlobe can use your geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) to compute the correct local horizon and display the stars visible from your location. Geolocation requires your explicit permission — your browser will display a permission prompt before your location is accessed. Your coordinates are processed on your device and are not sent to our servers or shared with any third party. If you decline the permission, StarGlobe will use a default location, and you can set your coordinates manually.

Local Storage

StarGlobe uses your browser's localStorage to save UI preferences such as display settings, selected language, and night mode state. This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. It contains no personal information. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

Cookies

StarGlobe itself does not set any cookies. However, the third-party analytics services described above (Yandex Metrika and Google Analytics) may set cookies in your browser. These cookies are used solely for analytics purposes and do not track you across unrelated websites. You can block or delete these cookies through your browser settings without affecting the functionality of the star map.

Personal Data

We do not collect, store, or process any personal data. StarGlobe does not have user accounts, login systems, registration forms, or any mechanism that requires you to provide personal information. StarGlobe does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since we do not collect personal data from any users, children can use the application safely.

StarGlobe is served over HTTPS, ensuring that all communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted. Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal information at risk.
